Berseem (Clover) Seeds
🌱 Soaking
After soaking, you can immediately sow them into the prepared field or seedbed.
If you are inoculating the seeds with Rhizobium (nitrogen-fixing bacteria), soak first, then mix the inoculant (often with a sticking agent like jaggery or molasses) and let the seeds dry just enough so they don’t clump, then sow.
Berseem Clover Seeds
Berseem clover seeds should be soaked in clean water for 8–12 hours before sowing to improve germination.
After soaking, drain the water completely and sow the seeds immediately.
Seed soaking helps in faster sprouting and uniform plant growth.
If using Rhizobium inoculant, mix it with soaked seeds for proper coating.
Treated seeds should be sown within 24 hours for best nitrogen fixation.
Avoid direct sunlight on treated seeds as it can damage seed quality.
Proper seed-to-soil contact is very important for healthy crop establishment.
Light irrigation after sowing helps maintain adequate soil moisture.
Do not over-soak seeds, as excessive soaking can reduce seed viability.
Berseem seeds germinate best in moist, well-prepared soil.
