🌱 Soaking

  • After soaking, you can immediately sow them into the prepared field or seedbed.

  • If you are inoculating the seeds with Rhizobium (nitrogen-fixing bacteria), soak first, then mix the inoculant (often with a sticking agent like jaggery or molasses) and let the seeds dry just enough so they don’t clump, then sow.

Berseem Clover Seeds

  • Berseem clover seeds should be soaked in clean water for 8–12 hours before sowing to improve germination.

  • After soaking, drain the water completely and sow the seeds immediately.

  • Seed soaking helps in faster sprouting and uniform plant growth.

  • If using Rhizobium inoculant, mix it with soaked seeds for proper coating.

  • Treated seeds should be sown within 24 hours for best nitrogen fixation.

  • Avoid direct sunlight on treated seeds as it can damage seed quality.

  • Proper seed-to-soil contact is very important for healthy crop establishment.

  • Light irrigation after sowing helps maintain adequate soil moisture.

  • Do not over-soak seeds, as excessive soaking can reduce seed viability.

  • Berseem seeds germinate best in moist, well-prepared soil.
